I was speaking with my homey David Garfinkel the other day.
No matter what we’re supposed to be talking about, the conversation always touches on two topics:
1. Guitars and music…
2. Writing
Yesterday he said something profound I’d not heard articulated before.
(Geez, only a half hour on the phone and Garf has me saying fiddy-cent words like “articulated.”)
He was talking about occasional excellence versus consistent mediocrity. And which was better.
The conclusion we came to was this:
Most creative people like writers, artists and entrepreneurs would prefer excellence, even if it’s only occasional.
But those who practice consistent mediocrity make more money.
A LOT more money.
For example, one of Garf’s friends is a copywriter who has a reputation for producing mediocre copy.
But he produces an enormous amount of it. And he makes 5x’s to 6x’s more than most copywriters. And he’s a multi-millionaire.
THAT is the difference between occasional excellence and consistent mediocrity.
Bad news if you’re a perfectionist, huh?
That’s why I like getting involved in stuff that FORCES me to produce regularly. Like my daily emails and my monthly newsletter.
‘Cuz if it were up to me, I’d still be writing and editing
Issue #1 of The Doberman Dan Letter.
(Perfectionists never “finish” anything. But the smart ones DO “release” things.)
There’s another nice little serendipity…
In the process of consistent mediocrity, you’ll produce occasional excellence.
All the best,
Doberman Dan
P.S. I’ll be announcing something groundbreaking shortly after the 1st of the year.
It’s for people who want to make a LOT of money.
I don’t know what “a lot of money” means to you… but I’m talking about “own a private jet” kind of money.
This is for the elite few who want to amass wealth and become deca-millionaires.
And it has NOTHING to do with direct response marketing.
It’s the secret to wealth used by guys like Jeff Bezos of Amazon and Elon Musk of Paypal and Tesla.
Frankly, it’s understood by few.
And shared by even fewer.
Until now.
I’m gonna let the cat outta the bag.
But I will NOT share it with civilians.
The only people I’ll reveal this to are the knights in my Marketing Camelot.
And to quote a presidential candidate… “This is going to be HYOOGE.”
Seriously.
Nobody in the online marketing community can teach this… because nobody knows it. You can only learn it from guys who have done what Bezos and Musk have done.
It’ll soon be the buzz of the entire online marketing community.
Join me in the Marketing Camelot today and you’ll be one of the few privy to this breakthrough wealth secret.
Pax vobiscum.
