Since you’re on this hidden page, it’s probably because you inquired about hiring me for copywriting or consulting.

Let me be VERY up front with you…

There’s a 95% chance my answer will be a resounding “no.”

I very rarely take clients.

Why?

The very reason you want to hire me…

…because I know how to get thousands upon thousands of people to open their wallets and part with their money.

And it’s much less hassle and usually MUCH more profitable for me to do that for my own projects than to deal with all the bullshit I have to tolerate with most clients.

Of course, there ARE exceptions… but over the past 17 years of doing what I do, it’s EXTREMELY rare that I find an exceptional client.

But having said that… I OCCASIONALLY consider doing client work… but I’m pretty picky about who I work with.

The client needs to be somebody I would enjoy hanging out with while working and brainstorming together. A “salt of the earth” person I would feel comfortable inviting into my home.

And… they have to have an established business… at the very LEAST doing $1 million or more in sales per year… preferably $10 million or more.

Just so there’s no misunderstanding…

Let me address the “fee question”
right from the very beginning…

I won’t even talk to you unless you’re prepared to invest a MINIMUM of $15,000 in a paid-in-full fee/advance against royalties.

That’s the MINIMUM. Depending on the complexity of the project, my fee/advance against royalties will more likely be anywhere from $25,000 to $50,000… and up.

Most clients start this process with an existing idea about what they THINK they need from their copywriter. Interestingly, almost 2 decades of experience has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt most clients are completely clueless about what they REALLY need to accomplish their goals. What they THINK they need is almost always wrong… and I have to investigate, diagnose and prescribe the CORRECT solution.

And that ain’t cheap.

But a sophisticated and seasoned entrepreneur understands that the investment to hire an experienced copywriter/entrepreneur doesn’t COST you money… it MAKES you money… usually with an EXTRAORDINARILY high return on your investment.

If that describes you, then read on.

But… if you’re the type of person who makes a decision on price alone (like most broke people)… I’m NOT your guy… and there’s no need for you to read any further.

In addition to my 100% paid up front fee, I usually get some kind of back end royalty/commission based on performance.

I realize my fee structure precludes a lot of potential clients… and that’s the goal.

You see, I have to be extremely selective about who I work with because I’m MUCH more than just a guy who can write direct response copy. Those guys are a dime a dozen… and you’ll get exactly what you pay for when you hire them.

I’m a successful serial entrepreneur with 17 years experience starting innovative direct response and online businesses… all driven with my own copy.

I don’t just write killer order-pulling copy. I’m an expert at…

… ALL things marketing… online and offline…

… Identifying hot markets and trends…

… Market research…

… Direct mail for customer acquisition AND back end sales to your house list…

… List selection…

… List segmentation for identifying your most responsive and highest value customers, clients and prospects…

… Maximizing lifetime customer value…

… Increasing retention in continuity programs…

… Media buying (online and offline)…

… Getting maximum conversion from your websites…

… Product development…

… New product launches…

… And all the logistical stuff involved in running a successful business.

Because of that, for the very few clients I’ve worked with, I’ve also become a confidant who “has your back” and understands the unique challenges you face as an entrepreneur.

The leader is a lonely person. Hardly anybody “gets” you. It’s reassuring to know you have a partner/coach in your corner who understands the unique challenges you face and can sincerely empathize with you.

Or… give you a swift motivational “kick in the ass” when you need it. (And let’s be honest… we ALL need that from time to time.)

Also, if you’re one of the very few people I decide to work with, I’ll not only help you get a big bump in sales, I’ll probably identify several unnecessary “gashes” in your cash flow, hemorrhaging money like a stuck pig… and help you get those “sutured up” STAT. With everything I know about business, entrepreneurship, copywriting and marketing… and my decades of successful experience doing it exclusively for myself… why would I even consider working with a small handful of clients?

Good question. Actually, there are several reasons:

1. It’s part of my multiple streams of income strategy…

2. It’s a way for me to have a performance-based financial interest in a successful and growing business without investing my own money… and…

3. Let’s face it… this can be a lonely business when you spend much of your day planted in front of a computer all by your lonesome. It’s fun to partner up with a positive “let’s-roll-up-our-sleeves-and-make-great-things-happen” type of person to achieve challenging goals together. It’s invigorating to experience that “esprit de corps” feeling when we’re able to revel in victories together… along with the celebratory “high fives.”

By now I hope I’ve made this exceptionally clear… if you’re looking for a bargain basement run-of-the-mill copywriter, I’m definitely NOT your guy.

But… if you’re the type of person I just described and you understand what I bring to the table, my fee is a screaming bargain compared to your potential return on investment… AND all the mistakes you’re going to make and money & time (perhaps YEARS) you’re going to needlessly fritter away without my help and expertise.

To be totally transparent with you, my initial fee won’t even cover the income I’m going to lose by taking my time and focus away from my own projects to concentrate on YOUR business.

That’s why a royalty or commission is usually part of our agreement.

It’s in YOUR best interest, too because it keeps me involved in your project, constantly tweaking, testing and improving to ensure its ONGOING success.

If all this makes sense and you can afford my fees without taking out a second mortgage or stealing from your kid’s college fund… then the next step is for us to have a brief phone chat.
