Ben Settle In The Dawg House

by admin on July 22, 2009

Dear Friend,

I recently interviewed Ben Settle, an excellent copywriter and kitchen table entrepreneur. Ben is a highly respected young up and coming copywriting star who has written copy for some of the biggest names in direct response and Internet marketing.

Ben’s another one of my “go to” guys. When I need a sharp marketing mind to bounce ideas off of, he’s one of the first people I call.

By the way, Ben came up with a great name for my teleseminars and I’m gonna steal it. He called it “Doberman Dan’s Dawg House”.

So welcome to the Dawg House.

I kept Ben in the Dawg House all night ruthlessly bombarding him with questions until he revealed every single secret he knows about getting good at copywriting as fast as possible and building a successful freelance business.

Here’s just a FEW things Ben revealed…

  • How to get good at copywriting as quickly as possible…
  • The best way to get clients and build a freelance copywriting business fast…
  • How to build a following of raving fans for your blog or website…
  • How to write copy that sells like crazy… without all the hype…
  • How to come up with the “big idea” when writing copy…
  • The best way to make money as a copywriter when you’re between clients… or maybe without clients…
  • A proven way to extract the maximum value from any book, audio, DVD or home study course and permanently implant that information directly into your brain…

Ben really “spilled his guts” during this interview and revealed “gold nuggets” I’ve never heard any other copywriter talk about.  Things like…

  • How to cut through all the “looky loo” copywriting prospects who will only waste your time… and get right through to the very best “top dawg” prospects who will hire you in a New York minute…
  • Why “free” sucks. (You’ll be shocked at this one!)
  • How acquiring more and more copywriting and marketing books and courses can sometimes actually kill your progress…
  • The selling secrets Ben discovered from Bigfoot…
  • Ben’s three simple secrets for honing your copywriting chops FAST…
  • How to write ads that cut through the all the noise, grab your prospects by the throat and speak directly to your market at the visceral level…
  • The fastest way to “leapfrog” your way to expert status so copywriting prospects actually seek YOU out.
  • And much more…

Ben really pulled out all the stops. If you’re even mildly interested in becoming a copywriter and kitchen table entrepreneur, you’d be a complete shitweasel to miss this one.

Great call guys, me and all my buddies really enjoyed it ;)

At least once a week someone asks me “how do you get copywriting clients”, and the bottom line is you can teach people all the tricks and tactics but at the end of the day the real “secret” is to just get good.

That’s why Ben is where he’s at — he’s a shit-hot copywriter. He put the work in and it shows.

Most simply aren’t willing to do what it takes.

Cheers
Kyle

This was a really incredible call Dan.

I’ve been a fan of Ben Settle for what feels like forever now and when the two of you team up it’s like the A Team of kitchen table awesomeness!

You have no idea how much I admire you guys. You inspire me to reach for new heights in my own copywriting/marketing business and I’m grateful.

You know, there’s so much junk out there that I was once tempted to ignore everyone online and stick to the old books on my shelf but lately my faith has been renewed.

Mostly thanks to Ben and You Double-D.

Thanks guys.

P.S. I really appreciate that you share these recordings after the call because I’m sorta a grump when it comes to teleseminars. Phones aren’t fun for me since my career as a telemarketer ended. hah.

Awesome Dan. Thanks.

Excellent call guys.
Thanks very much.
Your enthusiasm is very motivating.

Just curious Ben mentioned “funded proposal” for a MLMer.
Sounds like Joe Schroeder to me. If it was Dillard, he got it from Joe.

Thanks again,
John

“Shit-hot copywriter” Kyle, I think that’s just about the nicest thing anyone’s ever said about me haha

You rock Courtney — did you ever contact Ryan Healy about his 80/20 deal? I don’t know if he’s taking on new copywriters for that, but I definitely told him about you

Thanks for all your comments, guys!

Hey Kyle… the comment you sent from the webcast was the highlight of my night! I’m going to tell everybody, “We had 30 people on the call and webcast in the US & UK… and 794 in Australia!”

Courtney: I’m glad you’re finding good info and inspiration here. But after reading your story, YOU are one of the guys who inspires me. I’m glad you’re here.

Again, thanks everybody.

Best,
Dan

Thanks Dan, great call.

Not often I spend 2 hours listening to a teleseminar,
must have been the bullet writing…..

I know copying Ben’s style of writing helped me write
more simply. And I learnt an awful lot of stuff from his
copywriting book. In fact I still take it off the shelf and
go through it becaus it’s such an easy (yet fascinating)
read.

Notice the brackets above? One little technique
I picked up from reading Ben’s stuff.

cheers Mark
